An archaeologist of the Anthropocene blending minerals and electronic components
French visual artist Bastien Cuénot brilliantly explores the porous border separating the organic world from the artificial universe. Known online under the handle @bastiencuenot_, he positions himself as a true archaeologist of our modern industrial era. His hybrid sculptures deliberately collide natural elements like wood or bone with obsolete technological components. From this friction, fascinating works are born, resembling technological fossils from a distant future.

The art of trompe-l’œil to transform digital objects into living structures
The artist excels at creating optical and conceptual illusions by shaping industrial materials that perfectly mimic nature. In his work Untitled, a complex assembly of power strips and electrical cables takes the shape of a human ribcage. His unsettling creations intentionally blur traditional categories to question our perception of matter and the memory of our tools. In doing so, he breathes a second, almost biological life into the electronic waste of our daily lives.

The IN and OUT series to occupy galleries and natural landscapes
His artistic approach unfolds through two major series named IN and OUT, which lie at the heart of his reflection. The IN series takes over art galleries to transform the exhibition space into an intimate laboratory, shaking up our relationship with reality. Conversely, the OUT series installs robots and technological objects directly into wild landscapes. These outdoor installations stage the tense cohabitation between human creations and ecosystems.
