A colossal engineering challenge to erect a sporting monument in the heart of Manhattan

As the 2026 World Cup grand finale approaches, LEGO and FIFA have launched a monumental media stunt in New York. The two partners have installed an 8-meter-tall replica of the famous trophy right in the center of the iconic Rockefeller Plaza. This 7.7-ton construction required the meticulous assembly of over 1.36 million plastic bricks. Around fifty engineers and designers worked for eight months in the Czech Republic to design the internal structure essential to its stability.

An experiential marketing activation tailored for social media virality

This impressive masterpiece serves as a major visual anchor for the opening of the new LEGO Fan Zone within the American metropolis. Designed for spontaneous sharing, the urban attraction invites fans from all over the world to take photos of themselves in front of its golden-bricked details. The official inauguration took place in the presence of Brazilian football legend Cafu. Collector merchandise to permanently anchor the brand in football culture

Beyond this temporary open-air installation, the Danish brand is cleverly rolling out its partnership through a whole range of merchandise. Enthusiasts can purchase an official 2,842-piece miniature replica containing a secret minifigure celebrating the event. The manufacturer has also launched exclusive minifigures representing global stars like Kylian Mbappé or Lionel Messi. This comprehensive presence allows the group to permanently associate its creative universe with the biggest sporting event on the planet.
